Prices of farmgate palay continue on upward trend

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) updates recent movement on prices of palay, rice and corn in the market. They stated that since January, the average price of palay has been increasing to ₱18.92 per kilogram, rising a percentage on a weekly basis.
The white grain and yellow grain prices also jumped to ₱15.68 and ₱12.33 per kg. Both the average wholesale and retail prices of well-milled rice have increased.
The average wholesale well-milled rose three percent to ₱39.25 year on year. Week on week, prices are still up to 0.03 percent.
On the other hand, the price of average retail well-milled rice grew two percent higher than the previous year, having ₱42.29 per kilogram.
The wholesale price of regular-milled rice climbed four percent to ₱35.66 per kg while its average retail price increased 2.37 percent to ₱38.06 per kilogram.
Price of average wholesale yellow corn grain propagated to a whopping 10 percent with ₱18.71 per kg.
However, the retail price of yellow corn grain declined 1.06 percent while wholesale and retail prices of white corn grain went up 21 percent and 16 percent to ₱18.33 per kg and ₱29.92 per kg, correspondingly.
